NA ROTA DO ORIENTE

NA ROTA DO ORIENTE
BSO da serie RTP1

Na Rota Do Oriente is primarily a series on the meeting of cultures and how this event shaped the world in which we find ourselves today. So one of my first challenges was to create a theme flexible enough to adapt to different cultural interpretations.

With this album they want to invite the listener to embark on a musical journey that starts in Lisbon, follows along the coast of Africa to reach India and the Far East. Beyond this common element, the selection of topics, almost all written for the film, convey the rich cultural, historical and emocioanl this fascinating series.

DAVID QUALEY

DAVID QUALEY
Begegnungen

In 1996, the Church of the State of Württemberg, in Stuttgart, he asked the popular German composer David Qualey to record a CD of hymns, to be called Begegnungen.

It seemed an interesting idea and decided to record 11 songs for guitar that he recorded in his own studio. Did not use any other instrument.

Lunes comes in early 2003 when the composer and guitarist Guy Cuyvers, along with Sandra Van Beirs, lead singer of Spanish roots, the group decided to form the basis of their common affinity for Latin music.

Shortly after adding to Lunes two musicians with the same determination: guitarist Robert du Meunier and guitarist-bassist Danny Poppe.

During its inception, Lunes is devoted to topics known traditional Portuguese music, Brazilian, Latin and Spanish, but are quick to introduce topics of their own music and lyrics.

INTO THE RISING SUN

INTO THE RISING SUN
Original music from the International TV-Series by Guy Cuyers

The sea is a common inspirational element in the four compositions he has done to date Guy Cuyvers for the screen.

In this four-episode documentary miniseries, the action focuses on the maritime journey Basque Gama Portuguese explorer in his search for the route to the Indies.

Another example that encourages us to pay more attention to music documentaries, especially this time of little inspiration in the field of film music.

SETTING SAIL

SETTING SAIL
Original music from the International TV-Series by Guy Cuyers

It is remarkable the amount of musical works whose inspiration comes directly from the sea, among which include SETTING SAIL without hesitation that the Belgian composer and guitarist Guy Cuyvers.

SETTING SAIL pays fitting tribute to their contributions, offering a multi-cultural perspective illustration of the history of man and the sea. It is a television mini-series of four episodes that leads us to less familiar face of navigation, for which the composer has created a Guy Cuyvers incredibly inspired music, varied and lively.

Most tracks in the first half of the CD have a clear trend east while the second half of the album is more nostalgic.
